Thursday is... Day Zero!!
Guest blogger: Steve’s youngest sister Elizabeth
The big day has arrived. Right now, in another country, the donor is undergoing a four-hour blood draw. Her stem cells will be spun from the blood and siphoned off for Steve, and the remaining blood will be returned through her other arm. Then the precious bag of life-saving cells will be flown halfway around the world for Thursday's infusion.
It's called Day Zero because it counts as a whole new beginning.
Send all your positivity, thoughts, prayers, chants, mantras and support as our family surrounds Steve Thursday with love and encouragement to accept this gift.
Here is a link to a Marin Independent Journal article on a successful transplant. The fact that this article graced the front page of our local newspaper the very same day that Steve checked in for his own transplant is certainly an auspicious sign.
Our song for today: Don't Stop by Fleetwood Mac

More positive vibes from the Denzels. Best of luck Steve!
